Our radon detectors
It can be easier and cheaper to measure the radon concentration with the passive radon detectors, the only type approved by UKHSA.
This type of detector contain a special type of radiation sensitive plastic inside, which will be damaged by the decay products from the radon gas.
They require laboratory analysis to derive a result but will provide you with the seasonally adjusted average, the correct value to compare to the Action Level. Note that the requirement is 90 days for a radon measurement to be validated according to the UKHSA protocol.
